Articulation

Saying age-appropriate sounds clearly and being understood by both familiar and unfamiliar listeners. 


Expressive Language

How we understand language for communication and being able to express our wants and needs and engage in daily life activities.

Aphasia

Language disorder caused by stroke or brain injury that impacts that way you speak, read, write, and communicate with others.  

 

Stuttering/Fluency

Stuttering is the most common fluency disorder. It is often seen as repetitions, prolongations, blocks, and revisions, which may affect the rate and rhythm of speech.

Apraxia

Neurological speech sound disorder in which the precision and consistency of movements used for speech are impaired. 

 

Literacy

We use the Orton-Gillingham approach to literacy to enhance reading fluency and comprehension. This approach is effective for individuals with dyslexia. 

Dysarthria

Speech disorder caused by muscle weakness, in which it becomes difficult to speak. It can be caused at birth or after an illness/injury.

 

Receptive Language

How spoken and written language is understood in order to answer questions, follow directions, and engage in conversational discourse.
